MLM Systems: The Truth Uncovered.

Before we get started we should explain what mlm systems actually are. It’s a way to plug yourself and your team into so everyone has a plan to follow. Any kind of training, web sites and even the mlm business model can be considered a system. Obviously the business model itself is a mlm system of distribution that works. What were going to focus on are mlm systems designed to make building your business as simple as possible. In the network marketing industry people throw around the words mlm systems all the time and most of the systems are not very effective. Now let’s cover different mlm systems in detail so the next time you see one you will know if it’s the kind of mlm system you want to use to build your business.

The Traditional System:

This is a mlm system of training that most network marketers are taught for building there business. Were talking about the three foot rule which means you talk to any one within three feet of you about your business. I have done this and personally I suggests not wasting your time talking strangers that don’t know your business. Then there’s the home and hotel meetings. This is when you would get a list together of friends and family and invite them to your own meeting or you get them to go to your company business overview meeting.

Now this can be very effective and mlm has been built this way for years successfully. However the reality is that 3% or so end up becoming a success with this method. Why? It’s because the 3% percent that make it work know a lot of people who know a lot of people or someone who has the data base of people that are in mlm or have experience in mlm that they can partner with because of the relationship that has been built with their data base over time. Keep in mind of the fact that the biggest percentage of people that you get started in your network marketing business are not fortunate to have a large list of people they know to promote the business to.

There are other reasons why most don’t make the traditional methods work. I call it FEAR. Most people fear the fact that they will have to get in front of people and present there opportunity. They fear rejections or they fear the handling of objections. They fear what people might think about their opportunity and the list goes on. Of course there will be those that wont mind it. However that could take sometime before you recruit an individual like that. However the main reason this traditional mlm system is flawed is because the people that are getting introduced to the business are not targeted enough for mlm. Which explains why there is massive rejection and objection involved.

The Cold Calling System:

This is also a very popular mlm system being taught to networkers for building there business. What typically happens, is people get started in network marketing and don’t want to talk to their friends and family or they run out of people to talk to about their business. So usually they will go to there upline to find out what to do next and they will suggest buying generic mlm leads or they will start searching the Internet for mlm leads. These leads come from lead generation companies and they run home based business opportunity ads on radio, Internet and in magazines.

These ads collect the contact information of people who want to make money from home. Keep in mind that it cost the company money to generate these leads and are in business to make a profit so they turn around, and sell the leads up to ten times or more to other network marketers like you creating competition for you out the gate. Also these lead are not targeted enough for a mlm business because they don’t know what a mlm business is about to begin with.

Then you have to cold call these leads by the thousands to possibly find good leads that my be interested in your opportunity. The truth is 98% or so of these leads will not join you because of the fact they were just curious to begin with, and not serious about starting a business in the first place. Because these leads are such low quality you will end up facing rejection on a massive scale cold calling them. From my own experience, this by far is the biggest waste of money and time for building your business. Stay away from lead generation companies.

The Powerline MLM System:

Is a Internet web based system that gives you a web site and contact manager to keep track of your leads that are sent through the system. A powerline system places leads under the next building what’s called a powerline. As this happens the leads already in the system get an email notifying them that somebody was placed below them in there powerline. This shows the leads already in the system that there are other people looking at the business.

The powerline system also sends out a (deadline email to upgrade to member) weekly to all the leads in the system informing them to upgrade to a paid member and jump to the top of the powerline above everyone else that don’t upgrade. Letting them know they will get paid a commission check off the efforts of everyone else below them in the powerline when they upgrade. This creates whats called “fear of loss”. Meaning the leads that really want to make money will upgrade so they don’t lose possible commission checks

The problem with these powerline mlm systems is that the leads they typically sell you in the back office are generic low quality business opportunity leads which we talked about earlier and creates very low conversion rates from lead to an upgrade member. So you will most likely have to keep pumping money into the system to keep the lead flow going and spend more then you make. The powerline system really is not designed to sell the opportunity to create profitable conversion rates.

The Direct Response MLM System:

This is a system that is designed to get a response out of your leads and get them to get started in whatever business you promote. Unlike other web based systems, it uses well written copy that is very compelling and sells the leads on getting started with your product or service. Think of it as a sale man on paper. This takes you out of the selling process. A system like this is only effective when targeting the right kind of leads for your business as with any system you use.

Because of the response a system like this gets, it creates what’s called conversion rates. In other words you will know how many leads you will have to send through the system to make a certain amount of sales. Allowing you to build your business based on the numbers. All you have to do is learn the how to generate quality traffic to the direct response mlm system and let it do the work for you. This is leveraging at it’s best.

The Direct Response Attraction Marketing MLM System:

This is a mlm system that has all the components of direct style marketing system but the focus is put on you. Meaning the system will Brand you in the process making you the expert in the eyes of your leads. This is very effective when you consider that network marketing is a people business and people join you not your company. So you have a system that sells for you, makes sales for you regularly and brands you as a leader. Then it’s just a matter of you learning how to market your network marketing business. This is by far the most effective recruiting system out on the market today.

Let me explain something to you before decide on what mlm system is best for you. Make no mistake about it. Network marketing is a marketing business and marketing should be your main focus for building it. The reason there is a 97% failure rate in the industry is because of the lack of marketing training and the use of some ineffective mlm systems.
